Today IT will be presenting the PASMO project - Platform for the Development of Intelligent Mobility Sollutions at Ílhavo. The presentation ceremony is scheduled for 9h30 at the Cais Criativo da Praia da Costa Nova.

One of the main purposes of this platform is to promote the research and development of smart products and services by companies that operate in the area of mobility, spanning those developing services and equipment for intelligent transport systems to transport and telecommunications operator and those engaged in monitoring the environment. The establishment of both national and international companies, the promotion of partnerships and the strengthening of the business fabric in the region of Ílhavo are the other main purposes of PASMO. The platform should be available along several kilometers of the A25 corridor, as well as on the beaches of Barra and Costa Nova.

Co-financed by the Centro 2020 program and with a budget of € 370,000 for a two-year implementation period, PASMO "will function as a confluence place for companies, people and knowledge. This will be a platform open to the experimentation of an intelligent mobility system and an open innovation ecosystem (Living Lab), where companies can collaborate to create, develop and validate equipment and services, protocols, processes, applications and standards.

Researchers from the Embedded Systems group and the Telecommunications and Networking group, both from IT in Aveiro, will be working in project PASMO under the coordination of Joaquim Ferreira, also from IT in Aveiro
