IT was present at the Jornadas da Engenharia Eletrotécnica (JEE) of Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (IPL). Held at the Escola Superior de Engenharia e Gestão de Leiria on the last 14th March, this is probably the most important event in the field of Electrical Engeneering taking place in Leiria.

“The JEE aims to bring together students, Professors, research institutions and companies, through the presentation and discussion of current topics such as SmartGrids, the Internet-of-Things, Machine-to-Machine Communications, Embedded Systems, Autonomous Vehicles and High Performance Electric Machines, and also to exhibit projects related to the field of Electrical Engineering, in its different areas”, said Sérgio Faria, from IT and IPL.

IT was very well represented at the event with the following lecturers: Fernando Pereira (IT/IST) – “Representing Life with Light: A never-ending challenge”, Nuno Borges de Carvalho (IT/UA) – “Energy Efficient Future Wireless Communications” and Francesco Renna (IT/UP) – “Can we scope 40k children per year using Digiscope”.

IT was one of the sponsors of the JEE, which was organized by the Association of Electrical Engeneering Students and the IEEE Branch from IPL. The event attracted about 600 students, mostly from high schools, who participated in lectures, tech talks and engaged in electrical and computer engineering activity related workshops.
