Research Grant to Diogo Ribeiro, from IT in Aveiro

by IT on 26-12-2015
Diogo Ribeiro, a PhD student working at IT in Aveiro, was awarded the first prize - the "2015 ARFTG Roger Pollard Memorial Student Fellowship in Microwave Measurement” - with his work “Traceable instrumentation for direct measurements of mixed-signal systems”, supervised by Nuno Borges de Carvalho.
The fellowship is intended to provide financial assistance to a deserving graduate student who shows promise and interest in pursuing research related to the improvement of RF and microwave measurement techniques. Focusing on the characterization and measurement of high-speed Analog-to-Digital converters for radio applications, the work uses new measurement techniques to try to characterize better a device that is scarcely studied and understood so far in the RF area: high-speed Analog-to-Digital converters, which are most likely to be key components in future radios.
