MARCO GOMES (IEEE S’07–M’11–SM'20) was born in Coimbra, Portugal, in 1977. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering specialty in telecommunications from the University of Coimbra, in 2004 and 2011, respectively, where he is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology. His main research interests include wireless digital communications (namely MIMO, massive-MIMO, waveform contender for 5G and beyond, signal processing for large intelligent surfaces), general signal processing for communications and ultrasound systems, error control coding and physical layer security, and Software Defined Radio. He is also a member of the IEEE Communications Society and the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, and Editor of IEEE Communication Letters, IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, Physical Communication from Elsevier and IEEE ComSoc On-Line Content Board.
