Joaquim Ferreira, PhD in Informatics Engineering (2005, University of Aveiro, Portugal), is an associate professor at the School of Technology and Management of the University of Aveiro. His research interests include dependable distributed systems, real-time communications, distributed ledger technologies, security, wireless vehicular communications and cooperative connected and automated mobility. He is a senior researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações – Aveiro, where he has been principal investigator, local coordinator or participant in 15+ funded national and international research projects.
Joaquim Ferreira is a senior member of IEEE and member of the subcommittee on Fault-Tolerant and Dependable Systems within the IEEE IES Technical Committee on Factory Automation. He is a member of the editorial board of 3 journals and presented 8 invited/keynote talks in international workshops, industry events and Universities.
Joaquim Ferreira served on the technical program committee of 40+ conferences and organized/chaired 10+ scientific events. He has supervised or co-supervised 16 MSc, 3 PhD students, 6 post-doctoral fellows and 25+ research fellows.
