Bio

Kailash Hambarde is a computer vision and AI researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), Covilhã, Portugal. His work focuses on person re-identification, pattern recognition, biometrics, and video-based surveillance. He previously worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Beira Interior and as an industry data scientist. In 2025, he was part of the UBI team that won 3rd place globally in the AG-VPReID international challenge.
