Coimbra, Prémio de Inovação Pedagógica, Universidade do Porto, Atribuído em 2017 pela Universidade do Porto ao projecto “Ensino interactivo e avaliação da auscultação cardiopulmonar através de pacientes virtuais”, onde as tecnologias investigadas e desenvolvidas pelo Prof. Miguel Coimbra foram usadas pelo Prof. Gerardo Oliveira para ensinar e avaliar as capacidades de auscultação de mais de 300 alunos do 3º ano do curso de Medicina da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto., 01-01-2017

Coimbra, Diogo Abrantes Abrantes, Prémio Pfizer de Investigação Clínica, O Prof. Miguel Coimbra e um dos seus alunos de Mestrado (Diogo Abrantes) fizeram parte da equipa multi-disciplinar que venceu o prémio Pfizer Clinical Research Award 2016. A sua contribuição foi a criação da plataforma tecnológica que permitiu a colheita, armazenamento e análise de todos os dados de investigação envolvidos. Este prémio é considerado como a mais antiga distinção em Portugal na área da investigação biomédica, tendo sido criado há 60 anos e tendo galardoado mais de 600 investigadores neste período.
