2024 IEEE Microwave Prize awarded to the IT team

The team from the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) has been honored with the prestigious 2024 IEEE Microwave Prize, awarded by the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S). This accolade recognizes the most outstanding international publication in the field of RF and Microwave Techniques.

IT Researchers win EuMIC Prize

The paper entitled “A Simple Thermally Activated Trapping Model for AlGaN/GaN HEMTs” was awarded the 2022 EuMIC Prize.

Catarina Belchior awarded 1st place in the Student Paper Competition at 2022 INMMiC

The winning paper proposes a methodology that enables the automation of the optimum impedance profiles’ selection in a power amplifier.

João Gomes wins a $6,000 MTT-S fellowship

Bio

Luis C. Nunes (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Portugal, in 1986. He received his M.Sc and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal, in 2010 and 2015, respectively. From 2016 to 2017, he was an RF design engineer at Huawei Technologies, Sweden. He is currently a Researcher with the Institute of Telecommunications – Aveiro, Portugal. His main research interests include active device modeling, nonlinear distortion analysis, and the design of microwave circuits, especially high-efficiency and linear power amplifiers. Dr. Luis Nunes was a recipient of the 2022 EuMIC Best Paper Award and the 2024 Microwave Prize. He has served as a Reviewer for several IEEE journals and conferences.
