Overview

The Lab supports research work in several topics of image processing, namely, image and video coding for emerging standards, signal processing for broadband wireless communications and high performance parallel computing supporting different applications (error correcting codes, medical imaging, neural networks and multi-view image processing).

The laboratory is equipped with high performing workstations combined with GPUs and a CRAY system.

The Multimedia Signal Processing Lab is currently a GPU Research Center, supported by NVIDIA. (https://developer.nvidia.com/academia/centers/university-coimbra)
