Scope of activities

novel electronic devices and systems in the areas of Energy, Sensors for IoT, Healthcare, and in Biology.
In the organic electronics field, we characterize solid-state devices (OFETs, OLEDs, and RRAMs) as well as electrochemical-based devices to operate in liquid environments. The goal is to develop new biosensors for the environment, healthcare, and food applications.
In the bioelectronics field, we are developing electronic devices that can interface with living systems and detect or treat diseases. We also develop transducers to elucidate fundamental processes in physiology, and in neurosciences. For example, within our project NeuroAstroCircuit, we are developing transducers to unravel how two different types of brain cells, neurons, and astrocytes, communicate with each other to organize the flow of information in the brain.
Examples of the research undertaken in the group are:
• Novel electrophysiological devices to measure cell-cell communication in non-nervous cell populations.
• Resistive switching memories.
• Electronic devices with nonlinear electrical properties and their applications in neuromorphic circuits.
• Device reliability.
• Characterization methods based on electrical noise,1/f, and RTS type of noise.
• Characterization methods based on small-signal impedance and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
