The Applied Mathematics Group, in Aveiro pole, carries out research on optimization methods applied to telecommunication networks and services. Optimization is carried out based on exact methods, meta-heuristic methods and computer science tools as machine learning techniques. The main goals of the group are:
(i) development of optimization algorithms in the context of telecommunication networks and services;
(ii) network design and planning strategies;
(iii) traffic engineering of services on telecommunication networks.
