IT will be co-organizing the the IST Zoom seminar series Mathematics, Physics & Machine Learning. The aim is to bring together mathematicians and physicists interested in machine learning (ML) with ML and AI experts interested in mathematics and physics, with the goals of introducing innovative Mathematics and Physics-inspired techniques in Machine Learning and, reciprocally, applying Machine Learning to problems in Mathematics and Physics.
The first of a series of six seminars will take place the next thursday, May 14, with Cláudia Soares (ISR/IST) giving a talk entitled “The learning machine and beyond: a tour for the curious”.
Attendance is free (prior registration is required). In order to get the Zoom password, please subscribe the announcements in the registration menu, or contact one of the organisers.
The International Conference on Quantum Communication, Measurement and Computing (QCMC) was established in 1990 to encourage and bring together scientists and engineers working in the interdisciplinary field of quantum information science and technology.
Previously, fourteen QCMC conferences have been held. The fifteenth conference, initially programmed for June 2020, will be QCMC 2021 and will take place on 5-9 July 2021, in Lisbon, Portugal).
The event will be organized by the Physics of Information and Quantum Technologies Group, from Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) & Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, in collaboration with other local colleagues.
Scope of the conference:
- Quantum Communications and Quantum Cryptography
- Quantum Sensing and Quantum Metrology
- Quantum Computing and Quantum Simulation
- Quantum Networks
- Quantum Information Theory
- Quantum Control and Quantum Engineering
- Foundations of Quantum Physics More Information..
