Industrial Cybersecurity Methods and Technologies at ETFA 2022

on 06-09-2022

... The team Paulo C. Bartolomeu (Instituto de Telecomunicações, Portugal), Stefano Marrone (University of Campania, Italy) and Ricardo J. Rodríguez (University of Zaragoza, Spain) are organizing the Special Session: Industrial Cybersecurity Methods and Technologies, in the scope of ETFA 2022.

This Special Session focuses on novel security, safety, and privacy-enhancing technologies for current and future industrial applications.
Industrial cybersecurity has become a key research topic in recent years due to the massive connectivity brought by the Internet of Things and the rise of cyberattacks against industrial assets. While fostering contemporary applications and use cases, ubiquitous Internet access has also exposed legacy operational technologies to new and challenging security threats that must be addressed.

Topics under this session include (but are not limited to)
Security, safety, or privacy-enhancing technologies in industrial systems
Modeling of cybersecurity threats
Applications of distributed ledger technologies/blockchains in Industry 4.0
Self-sovereign identity for M2M and decentralized device-to-device communication
Hardware advances for securing Industrial devices and networks
Quantitative evaluation and/or interconnections among non-functional aspects (e.g., reliability vs. safety, security vs. performance)
Run-time methods and technologies for Complex Event Detection systems
Software engineering methods and techniques for high dependable control systems
Case studies/lessons learned of security, safety, or privacy assessments of industrial systems

The aim of this SS is to bring together researchers, practitioners, and experts from industries that conduct innovative cybersecurity work in related technical fields.

ETFA 2022 is the 27th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) focusing on the latest developments and new technologies in the field of industrial and factory automation. The conference aims to disseminate novel ideas and emerging trends, research results, and practical achievements. ETFA 2022 will be held on September 6-9, 2022, in Stuttgart, Germany.

Visions on Future Communication Summit: Research Beyond 6G

on 06-09-2022

... We are inviting you to the next edition of “Visions on Future Communication Summit: Research Beyond 6G”, which will be preceded by the “Workshop on Realistic AI for Telecommunications”.
The events will take place on the 6th (workshop), 7th, and 8th (Summit) of November, at the Holiday Inn Hotel, in Lisbon.

The Summit, oriented towards highly interactive communication between participants, with very fluid interactions, is oriented to identify key research areas in information and communication technologies in the mid-future of 7 to 10 years. It will follow from the previous event held in 2017, 2019, and 2021, considering that by 2030 6G will be reaching the market.

Networld Europe will also organize in the 9th a physical meeting of the Expert Group (as well as a Steering Board meeting). This meeting will discuss the results of the previous days in the context of the organization of the work plan for the coming update of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, to be performed during the next half-year.
