It's no secret that Data Visualization can be used in countless contexts. Depending on each of these contexts, there are processes, notions, and modes of presentation that vary. Designing a chart for a child is not the same as programming a dashboard for an administrator’s desk; But, what if the Design principles are the same? What if the secret to telling a good story with graphics is also the same?
In this lecture, the invited speaker Salomé Esteves will explore Data Visualization from its more communicative side and contact with people, touching on points such as principles of design, storytelling, and accessibility.
The lecture will take place on May 24 at 14:00, Amphitheatre 6.01, University of Beira Interior.
Salomé Esteves is a journalist at Renascença and a guest lecturer in Data Visualization and Infographics at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, (FA-ULisboa) since 2019. She holds a degree in Communication Sciences, with a specialization in Journalism, from the University of Porto (2014) and a Master’s in Communication Design at FA-ULisboa (2016).
