Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology augmented by Network Function Virtualization (NFV) are radically changing telecommunication networks. SDN separates the control functions from the underlying physical network by decoupling the control and data planes thereby offering improved programmability, ease of deployment, management, reduced costs, better scalability, availability, flexibility and fine‐grain control of traffic. NFV nicely complements SDN by virtualizing network services to reduce the dependency on underlying hardware which aids efficient resource management.
This seminar aims at being an excellent opportunity for some prominent players in the IT and Telco arena, including academia, discuss their current view on the emerging SDN/NFV technologies. At the end of this event, we aim to specify a common set of global goals to achieve with these new technologies to empower the current networking infrastructure and prepare it for the upcoming paradigms, such as Multi-Access Edge Computing / Internet of Things.
The seminar is open to all interested in this topic (students, researchers, professionals). Due to limitations on the participants number a pre- registration is required.
