Exploring Evolutionary Computation to Enhance Analog IC Design Automation Methodologies

Acronym EVOLUTION
Main objective The main objective of EVOLUTION project proposal consists of applying evolutionary computation techniques to achieve the optimal analog circuit and system design solution. In order to fulfill the main objective two other goals should be accomplished, first, the evolutionary computation features should be used to develop an autonomous mechanism capable of conducting the search for the optimal solution, second, new modeling techniques should be investigated to generate adaptive circuit and system models to both reduce the cost function evaluation and, also, to allow different levels of accuracy, during the optimization process. The achievement of these goals should allow an enhancement on the design cycle automation. The resulting design automation system and the expected improvement in design productivity will be demonstrated for both circuit and system designs.
