Abstract
This report discusses various modulation schemes that can be used for VLC systems considering only Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN). For each of the modulation scheme, the performance parameters such as probability of error, power efficiency and signal-to-noise ratio has been derived and compared.
Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) based Sequence Inverse Keying (SIK) method is also discussed. DSSS SIK System is implemented in MATLAB SIMULINK model with AWGN channel and additional noise sources. Their performance is analyzed and compared. It is seen that system takes the advantage of processing gain (PG) of DSSS system.
The model for external noise can be developed using several measurements that we are awaiting for and therefore, performance of this techniques can be evaluated.
