The Optical Communications Laboratory at Coimbra includes an "open space" (55 m2) equipped with test and measurement benches, a small room (16 m2) reserved for experiments with lasers and optics, and an office room (14 m2) with computer workstations. The available test and measurement equipment includes an optical table, two sets of accessories for experiments in optics and optical communications, an optical analyser (6 GHz), a wide band digital sampling oscilloscope (10 GHz), a spectrum analyser (9 kHz - 1.8 GHz), a vector voltmeter (1 GHz), a programmable RF synthesiser (1 GHz), a power meter (6 GHz), a noise generator (100 kHz - 1.5 GHz), and a data transmission test set (170 Mbit/s).
